The Silken Tent is a Textile Art & Design studio based in Heritage listed Braidwood, rural New South Wales, Australia. The area is rich in history and more recently in the number of artists and craftspeople who have made it their home.

At The Silken Tent we draw inspiration directly or indirectly from the country around us. Many of our designs are based on the flowers, plants or landscape colours of the area. Our aim is for decorative simplicity and the freshness that reflects Australian country living.

We work only with natural fibres - pure cottons, hemp, linen, ramie, silk and wool. We use water-based fabric inks and try to keep our work processes as environmentally friendly as possible.
